L. Maxine Atkins, 94, Robinson, Illinois formerly of Oblong, Illinois passed away at 6:20 a.m. Sunday, December 30, 2012, at Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson, Illinois.
Born in Centralia, Illinois on January 30, 1918, she was the daughter of Tom Hammond & Etta (Klutts) Hammond. She was owner and operator of Hammond Paint & Decorating Shop, Oblong, Illinois. Her hobbies included needlework and knitting for charity groups and individuals.
On July 4, 1936, Maxine married Harry S. Atkins, who preceded her in death on February 17, 1999. Also preceding her in death were her parents; one infant brother and one brother-in-law, John McGee.
Survivors include a daughter, Sharon K. Atkins; a sister, Joy McGee; two nieces, Charles & Gail McGee Oakley and Tom & Cynthia McGee Austin; several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Pastor Mick Laflin will officiate the funeral service. Burial will follow in the Mound Cemetery, rural Jasper County, Illinois.
